Services Offered

Osteopathy

Understanding the inter-connections of the body’s anatomical and physiological systems is the core principal within the osteopathic philosophy. Using gentle, yet precise manual techniques Kim is able to assess and identify the source of tension within the body that contributes to pain and dysfunction. The treatment is also gentle and in fact, the lighter the touch, the deeper Kim can feel.  Osteopathy is ideal for acute and chronic pain as well as for any age from infancy to geriatrics.

Some of the conditions that Kim has treated include headaches and migraines; TMJ dysfunction; respiratory conditions such as asthma; digestive conditions such as irritable bowel syndrome; bladder control issues; pregnancy and post-partum care, infant colic and joint pain within the low back, neck and extremities.

Assessments and Treatments are one hour long each. Infants and toddlers may be an exception and will be determined at the time of each session.

Culinary Nutrition

Food matters! Every morsel of food consumed will either build health or impair it and diet is one of the lifestyle factors in the health equation. There is an important connection between gut health and immune health, which Hippocrates first observed when he said  “all disease begins in the gut.” Health can be so much more than just the absence of disease so why not use the medicinal power of food to improve health and vitality. Kim has a particular interest in Leaky Gut Syndrome from her own personal experience and from years of observing intestinal dysfunction in her practice.

About Me

Kim moved to Squamish territory with her two dogs in November 2021 from Toronto, leaving behind her established practice of more than 30 years. As a member of the Aamjiwnaang First Nation located in southern Ontario, Kim is humbled to be living and working on the beautiful lands of the Skwxwú7mesh-ulh Temíx̱w. Kim infuses her healing energies and sensory skills within her osteopathic treatments which work to balance the spirit-body-mind and emotional connections. She studies and practices reiki, qigong, meditation and yoga. During her free time she can be found hiking the trails with her dogs, cycling or looking for a game of pickleball.

“Kim is a gifted and intuitive osteopathic practitioner. She is able to sense where underlying concerns originate from and work to release them on a deep level. After a pretty significant diet change, Kim asked what I'd changed as she noticed a shift in my tissues and their response. This not only confirmed her skills but supported the other positive changes I was making."

"Kim has been my Osteopathic Practitioner for more than 10 years and has provided care for several of my immediate family members. Kim has a tender, caring way of treating and got to know my body better than I know it myself. Whether it was on-going care or care for the acute injuries that seem to be a part of my active life, Kim has helped to get me back to the best me I can be. I am happy that Kim has followed her heart to a new phase of her life, but Ontario misses her. I am still working to find a replacement, which is no mean feat!"

"My family has been going to Kim since 2005. My daughter was 15 months old and my son was 2 weeks old when Kim started treating them. They are now 16 and 13 years old and over the years Kim has treated their asthma so they no longer needed puffers; she maintained their bodies through my daughter's dance competitions and my son’s competitive soccer, and she treated my son after he was hit by a car and after he tobogganed into a tree. They knew when it was time for a “Kim hug” and would ask for an appointment. I never hesitated as their body awareness from the treatments was spot on. As for myself, Kim helped me through my second pregnancy and then whenever my low back pain flared up. She always helped us understand what was going on with our bodies, which was comforting and she always had time to answer questions."

"I met Kim through my daughter. She took her children to Kim at a very young age and I couldn't believe how much she helped them. Kim is very knowledgeable in what she does. She took care of "my body" for many years and I'm so grateful to her. Every time I'd walk out of her office I'd be feeling so much relief. She was there when I needed her. Kim was like family to me and is very much missed by me and my family."

Our whole family greatly misses the “healing hands” of Kim Robertson. She relieved my husband’s migraines. She took away my back pain and helped me to walk straight again. She relaxed my son so that his intense growing pains disappeared. And so much more … Her professionalism, her skills, and her listening spirit drew us back each time.
